Off-Site Monitoring for Securing your facility

Off-Site Monitoring for Securing your facility

Offsite monitoring can be defined as the viewing of CCTV systems via links and internet connections between a camera system and a control room. Think of an alarm system in your home, connected to an armed response unit. Remember – Offsite monitoring is proactive and designed to prevent losses from occurring.

Remote versus onsite surveillance monitoring? Perhaps the debate should begin with an overview of exactly what offsite monitoring entails. Underpinning the successful adoption of either option is a complete understanding of the importance of aligning one’s decision with a service provider who has a solid reputation, verifiable with a documented footprint of working installations.

The term remote surveillance refers to the monitoring of the surveillance equipment installed on a site, from an offsite location. It does not, however, define the type or level of service to be provided. Continuous remote surveillance entails the use of monitoring staff, resources and equipment at a remote control room that is dedicated to continuously monitoring the client’s property, personnel and procedures. In the event that these procedures or activities are not being followed or conducted correctly, the client will be notified via an earlier agreed upon method.

Offsite monitoring provides added peace of mind by ensuring security personnel are alerted when an alarm is activated so that a response can be initiated, security guards dispatched, or emergency services summoned. The alarm system is connected to a central monitoring station via a IP path, which is then used to send signals from the alarm control panel to the monitoring station. The operators can see what type of alarm is coming through and take appropriate action.

Benefits of offsite monitoring:

Monitoring of alarm activation- inform response companies about false alarm activation.
Fair judgement on wrong-doing of all employees from the management’s perspective.
Neutral investigation by operators.
Immediate action is taken on incidents.
When you accidentally leave a gate open, our operators will be in touch with you immediately to inform you to close your gate.
CCTV systems cannot be threatened or bribed.
Depending on the placement of the camera, the whole property can be viewed 24/7.
